Electrical Designer Level II

A crane designer, assists with electrical drawing packages and submittals with little guidance.
- Creates electrical & pneumatic design, modeling, component sizing and specifications, and part detailing.
- Creates electrical schematics, bill of materials, spare parts lists, and As-Builts drawings.
- Performs electrical assembly drawings, and assist design team as needed
- Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing to maintain AEH standards, local codes, project specs and industry codes
- 3D electrical design work, ability to perform detailed drawings
- Assist with redlines, and assist design team with project documentation including submittal, and operation and maintenance manuals
- Ensure designs are cost effective and meet American Equipment's standards
- Read and understand customers additional requirements
- Performs crane wiring, fabrication shop inspections and quality checks as needed
- Learn, utilize, and implement continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, TOC, 6s, APICS, & 80/20
- Responsible for directing or executing corrective action when shop problems are encountered, performs root cause analysis
- Follows all ISO quality control procedures
- Scan, file, and save all documents pertaining to the job
- Keep accurate time for each job
- Any other responsibilities assigned by Design Manager & Lead Designer
On the job training pertaining to drafting and design of cranes
- Working knowledge of electrical power distribution, motor control centers,
- Electrical Code and Electrical Control Systems
- AutoCAD, Solid Works Schematics. Solid Works 3D Elec helpful.
- Familiar with NEC, CMAA, ANSI/ASME, OSHA, MHI Codes and requirements
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, preferred
Journeyman or 2-yr Journeyman apprentice experience with panel wiring experience.
2+ years of crane design experience, preferred
- Able to work in an office for extensive periods of time
- Able to travel to work site/traverse work floor
- Able to lift up to 50 pounds
This is a full-time position; typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Proof of right to lawfully work in the United States required.
