We are looking for a talented and passionate Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. A background in mining or heavy industrial and processing sectors is preferred. The successful candidate would primarily be supporting Mining work in Phoenix, Arizona. Key ResponsibilitiesThe successful applicant will work within a multidisciplinary team of design and engineering professionals to deliver projects. Your primary duty will be to lead the electrical design and engineering portions of all phases of the projects you are assigned to, from planning through post‑construction.
You will be responsible for applying engineering knowledge and professional judgement acquired through experience to plan, size, evaluate, select, and specify electrical systems in accordance with relevant codes, standards and industry best practices. You will perform a variety of tasks which may include conducting field investigations, liaising with clients, carrying out detailed planning studies, preparing design calculations, authoring technical reports, delivering presentations to stakeholders, leading the development of construction packages (drawings and technical specifications), estimating construction costs, monitoring and supporting construction, participating in commissioning, and contributing to business development activities.
You should be capable of working independently with minimal supervision and with a reflective mindset and a willingness to challenge both personal and teamwork.
Below are some of the responsibilities, but not limited to:
- Act as an Engineer‑of‑Record for projects and/or project components.
- Leads project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub‑contractors, and vendors.
- Participates in client project requirement meetings, value engineering analysis, and basic cost estimating.
- Develops and manages the project scope, budget, staffing and schedule.
- Leads the preparation and coordination of the project specifications with construction documents.
- Conducts quality assurance and quality control on own projects and projects of peers.
- Assists with the development of proposal.
- Incorporation of innovation, optimization, and standardization in designs as appropriate considering constructability and economics.
