Position Overview

As a senior structural engineer at Mi-Tech, you’ll design a wide variety of temporary and permanent structures associated with the construction of utility, infrastructure, and heavy civil projects. Primary job responsibilities include developing calculation submittals, coordinating the development of design and shop drawings, and supporting project pursuits and bids through preliminary evaluations and analyses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop calculation submittals
  • Coordinate development of design and shop drawings
  • Support project pursuits and bids through preliminary evaluations and analyses
  • Mentor and support other engineers
  • Communicate and coordinate with design and field teams
  • Provide support to the Principal Engineer with other assigned duties
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and 4–8 years of experience in the design of temporary works, heavy civil, or infrastructure projects
  • Master’s degree in Civil Engineering with emphasis in structures preferred
  • Active Professional Engineer license in any state
  • Proficiency with MS Excel, Mathcad, AutoCAD, and Finite Element Analysis
  • Basic knowledge of geotechnical engineering and related structures (foundations, retaining walls, earth retention systems) is a plus
  • Previous construction field experience is a plus
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a quickly changing environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication required
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record as determined by the Michels Review Team
