Staff Geotechnical Engineer

You’ll take part in every phase of geotechnical project delivery—from field investigations and data analysis to design integration and construction support. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your technical expertise, develop hands‑on design and field experience, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to solve complex geotechnical challenges that make a lasting impact.
Responsibilities- Conduct geotechnical field explorations, construction observations, collect geotechnical samples, report daily field operations, review geotechnical data, perform geotechnical analysis, and produce report writing.
- Develop material properties for soil and rock and evaluate the stability of slopes and foundations.
- Prepare drafts of portions of technical proposals, reports, regulatory agency permits, and other external and internal documents.
- Coordinate and integrate geotechnical evaluation results into civil design through collaboration with geotechnical, structural, mechanical, and electrical designs.
- Provide construction support (verification of design implementation, adherence to quality, contractor/owner engagement), site inspections, and geotechnical investigations; adapt designs to field conditions.
- Recognize potential opportunities for additional work within an existing project or client.
- Engage in regional projects with other offices and disciplines.
- Build trusting working relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Execute project assignments using critical thinking and engineering procedures.
- Participate in construction of in‑house designs that build on client relationships and lead to future projects.
- Use computer programs including Geo Studio, LPILE, GROUP, SHAFT, Plaxis, Settle3, and MathCAD for geotechnical analyses.
- Prepare project work plans and health and safety plans.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience in geotechnical engineering or equivalent education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Master’s degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Four or more years of substantial experience in geotechnical engineering projects.
- Current Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain within six months of employment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
- Proven experience with specialized geotechnical software.
- Comprehensive understanding of field work methodologies and practices.
- Exceptional ability to function effectively within a team environment.

- Project site travel estimated at up to 10% of work time.
