The Opportunity
Tetra Tech is adding a Mechanical CAD Designer to our Mining team based in Salt Lake City, UT.
Position SummaryTetra Tech is seeking a Mechanical CAD Designer with industrial experience in the Mining sector. This position provides design and drafting services for mechanical systems such as piping systems, material handling systems, crushing circuits and HVAC systems. Experience with Revit and AutoCAD is required.
Essential Job Functions- Operate CAD workstation to support the preparation of designs for industrial sector projects in mining and material handling.
- Support preparation of mechanical and piping drawings that includes equipment, process piping and HVAC drawings.
- Bachelor’s degree in Drafting/CADD, Mechanical Engineering, or other related field.
- Candidate must have 5 or more years of experience.
- Must be able to prepare plans, profiles, and detail drawings using AutoCAD.
- Experience in preparing and understanding P& PFD diagrams required.
- Must have experience working in a consulting environment.
- Must have Excel knowledge for preparation of equipment schedules.
- Must be an independent thinker and be able to assume design assignments with minimal training.
- The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
