We’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer who enjoys solving complex design challenges, collaborating with talented teams, and taking ownership of projects from concept through construction.
What You’ll DoYou’ll design mechanical systems for a variety of commercial and institutional projects, including:
- HVAC, plumbing, and hydronic systems
- Heating and cooling load calculations
- Equipment sizing and system modeling
- Engineering calculations, mechanical layouts, and technical specifications
- Equipment selection, including air handling units, pumps, boilers, chillers, ductwork, and piping systems
- Energy‑efficient and sustainable building system solutions consistent with industry best practices
You’ll have the opportunity to take ownership of projects while working alongside multidisciplinary teams by:
- Serving as the mechanical lead on assigned projects
- Coordinating with architects and structural, electrical, and civil engineering teams
- Supporting project schedules and mechanical budgets alongside Project Managers
- Reviewing submittals and responding to RFIs
- Participating in construction administration activities
- Conducting site visits and field observations to verify installations and resolve technical issues
As your experience grows, you’ll also have opportunities to:
- Mentor junior engineers and designers
- Perform QA/QC reviews of mechanical designs and construction documents
- Develop practical, maintainable, and high‑performing building systems
- Participate in client meetings to help define project requirements
- Support proposal development, including scope definition and fee input
- Build lasting relationships with clients and industry partners
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 5+ years of HVAC and plumbing design experience within an AEC consulting environment
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred
- Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD
- Experience with Bluebeam and HVAC load calculation software such as Trace 3D Plus, HAP, Energy Plus, or similar
- Strong knowledge of ASHRAE, IMC, IPC, NFPA, and applicable building codes
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

This is an on‑site position with the opportunity for a hybrid schedule after the first six months. Candidates should reside in the Salt Lake area or be able to reliably commute.
