Senior Engineer – Engineering Technical Services
Enbridge Gas UWI is seeking a Senior Engineer for our Engineering Technical Services team, responsible for ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient natural gas systems across Utah, Wyoming, and Idaho.
ResponsibilitiesLead complex engineering activities including standards development, specifications, pipeline and station design, design reviews, Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) design, geotechnical evaluations, and technical assessments.
Provide senior technical expertise to operations, ensuring compliance with codes, standards, and regulatory requirements.
Resolve complex technical issues independently, recommending design or standards deviations as needed.
Integrate and coordinate engineering requirements across operations, construction, and asset management teams.
Drive standards and specification management programs, ensuring alignment and consistency across the business.
Support high‑impact capital and maintenance projects, including risk assessments, asset integrity reviews, stakeholder communication, and mentoring of technical teams.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑accredited program (preferably civil or geotechnical).
- 6+ years of related paid experience in engineering design, build, standards development, and frontline operations technical support.
- Professional Engineering (P.E.) license or eligibility to obtain one.
- Advanced knowledge of pipeline engineering, design practices, and key industry standards (DOT PHMSA, ASME, API).
- Proven ability to independently solve complex technical problems using strong analytical judgment.
- Effective communicator and collaborator, capable of influencing stakeholders and conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences.
Requires grasping, kneeling, lifting objects up to 20 pounds, reaching overhead, and performing repetitive movements. Tasks include typing, sitting, standing, and visual activities such as reading screens, color codes, and fine print. Must be able to work in tight spaces and use a computer for extended periods.
