Responsibilities
- Perform geotechnical engineering and geological analyses and calculations.
- Prepare and write technical engineering reports and other documents.
- Manage and perform field explorations, collect samples, conduct geologic reconnaissance, and create mappings.
- Assign and manage geotechnical laboratory testing and communicate results.
What It Takes
- B.S. in Civil Engineering or M.S. in Geotechnical Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in Geotechnical Engineering.
- In process of receiving a Professional Engineering (PE) License.
- Experience or coursework in soil mechanics, rock mechanics, slope stability, foundations (shallow and deep), tunneling, microtunneling, seismic design, earthquake engineering, and retaining structures.
- Knowledge of field/construction coordination and observation, including logging geotechnical explorations, interpreting geotechnical instrumentation data, field reconnaissance, or underground work.
- Experience with geotechnical modeling software (e.g., L‑Pile, RSPile, Settle3D, Slide) for deep foundation analyses, settlement and seepage assessments, liquefaction assessment, and interpretation of results for design recommendations.
