Position Summary:
Our client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support and lead the design of heavy industrial projects. This role will be responsible for developing mechanical systems and equipment, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams, managing project execution, and ensuring designs meet quality, budget, schedule, and industry code requirements. Candidates with experience in industrial facilities, piping systems, and project leadership are encouraged to apply.
- Lead the design and engineering of heavy industrial mechanical systems and equipment.
- Manage projects from concept through execution while maintaining budget, schedule, and quality goals.
- Develop equipment specifications and support vendor selection and bid evaluations.
- Coordinate with clients, project teams, and other engineering disciplines to resolve design challenges.
- Oversee engineers, designers, and drafting personnel on assigned projects.
- Review engineering deliverables for compliance with project requirements and applicable industry standards.
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
- Experience with material selection and stress analysis for piping systems and platework.
- Ability to prepare and interpret P& PFD diagrams.
- Knowledge of mechanical integrity programs and applicable codes including API, ASME, MSS, ASTM, and related standards.
- Ability to lead technical design teams and participate in day-to-day engineering activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
- Experience with in heavy industrial and mining industries.
- Knowledge of industrial piping design and process/mechanical graphical symbols.
- Experience taking projects from concept through commissioning.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong client-facing and project coordination experience.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, Plant 3D, Inventor, Solid Works, or CADWorx.
