Manufacturing Engineer
The Manufacturing Engineer implements and maintains well defined, documented, and controlled manufacturing processes pertaining to the layup, cure, and rework of advanced aerospace composite structures. This engineer is responsible for both manual and automated layup processes across multiple defense and/or commercial programs. Works cooperatively with other teams including operations, quality, planning, and tooling to support production and optimize the process. Applies theoretical knowledge and engineering techniques to the solution of manufacturing engineering production problems.

Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain current layup, cure, and rework process documentation and manage the changes in Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
- Evaluate nonconforming parts and provide dispositions based on customer specifications.
- Support root cause and corrective action investigations.
- Promptly troubleshoot process stoppages to minimize downtime in automated layup & forming and manual layup work cells.
- Identify and implement process improvement opportunities relating to safety, quality, and efficiency.
- Create and maintain processes that meet operation's labor and cycle time targets.
- Create Compliance Matrices for customer requirements.
- Utilize SPC to monitor quality data.
- Support the implementation of new processes and automation projects to the manufacturing floor.
- Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems
Experience and Skills:
- Minimum 2 years' experience in manufacturing engineering or related discipline.
- Experience in developing and maintaining manufacturing processes and basic knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with technicians, other engineers, and management on technical matters.
- Strong computer, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Prefer a good understanding of aerospace composites processing.
- Prefer composite production experience.
Minimum Education and Certification Requirements:
BS/BA in Degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or Equivalent (AE/CE/IE)
