We are seeking a Field Engineer to lead the on-site installation, commissioning, and optimization of advanced Pilot scale water treatment systems. You will be responsible for ensuring our technology—ranging from Ultrafiltration (UF), Reverse Osmosis (RO) Granular media filtration (GMF), Sedimentation processes and others—operates at peak efficiency to meet rigorous water quality and discharge standards per our customer's specifications. Candidates for this position may be required to pass pre-employment and periodic screenings, including background checks, drug and alcohol tests, or other necessary assessments.
Some of the work you will do:
- System Commissioning & Startup:
Lead the technical setup and initial operation of high-purity water and industrial wastewater systems, including plumbing connections, membrane loading, instrument calibration, and equipment configuration. - Technical Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and process-related issues in pumps, valves, PLC controls (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), and process instrumentation. - Water Quality Analysis:
Conduct on-site water testing using colorimeters, turbidimeters, and pH/ORP probes to verify system performance and chemical treatment effectiveness. - Process Optimization:
Adjust system parameters to improve flow rates, reduce differential pressure, improve water recovery, and minimize chemical/energy consumption while ensuring regulatory compliance. - Client Training & Support:
Provide hands-on training to facility operators on system maintenance, safety protocols, and emergency response procedures. - Asset Management:
Perform necessary work to prepare, modify and test equipment before being shipped to site and when it returns. - Travel up to approximately 50% of the time, 95% being domestic, 5% being international, occasionally on weekends and holidays.
- Able to support projects and project tasks with minimum direction and supervision.

- Valid Driver's license and clean driving record
Here are the skills that you need:
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in civil, Mechanical, Chemical, or Environmental Engineering. - Experience:
1–3+ years in field service or commissioning within the water/wastewater industry. - Technical Knowledge:
Good understanding of water chemistry and mechanical systems like pumps, instrumentation, membrane filtration (RO/UF/NF), granular media filtration (GMF) and sedimentation processes. - Strong analytical problem-solving abilities and excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs (Process & Instrumentation Diagrams) and electrical schematics.
- Proficiency with PLC ladder logic and water information management systems (WIMS).
- Physical Requirements:
Ability to work in industrial environments, lift up to 50 lbs., and potentially perform in confined space entries.
Here are the skills and qualifications that will set you apart:
- Engineer-In-Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) license.
- Specialized training in Membrane filtration, granular media filtration, water treatment chemistry, or OSHA HAZWOPER.
- 2–3+ years of experience in a field engineering or on-site technical support role.
- Proficiency with diagnostic tools, reading schematics/blueprints, and industry-specific software (e.g., AutoCAD, PLCs, or network configuration).
Physical Requirements:
