Our client, a leader in petroleum refining and energy
, is seeking a Project Controls Specialist to join their team in Salt Lake City, UT.

You will support capital projects throughout the Rocky Mountain region by managing project cost controls, scheduling, forecasting, and financial tracking. This role will work closely with project managers to provide accurate and timely project data
, with a primary focus on cost tracking and SAP and secondary responsibility for project scheduling through Primavera P6.


** This is a 1-year W2 contract with benefits and potential for extension**

Responsibilities
  • Lead project cost and schedule controls for capital construction projects.
  • Track, forecast, and report project costs against budget
    , including monthly updates.
  • Manage SAP work orders, requisitions, purchase orders, contractor costs, and expenditures
    .
  • Maintain project schedules and monitor critical paths using Primavera P6
    .
  • Track contractor performance, payments, project progress, and logistics
    .
  • Partner with project managers to provide financial analysis, reporting, and project controls for informed decision-making.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in project controls, planning, estimating, or construction/maintenance management, preferably in a process plant, refinery, or industrial environment
    .
  • Strong experience with project cost tracking, forecasting, and budget management
    .
  • Experience with SAP and project financial/procurement processes.
  • Experience with Primavera P6 or comparable project scheduling software.
  • Understanding of engineering, construction, contracting, procurement, and logistics processes.
  • Strong Excel, analytical, organizational, prioritization, and communication skills
    ;
    Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a technical discipline preferred.
