Position Summary
This role is responsible for consulting, engineering, and designing electrical systems for complex projects in healthcare, military, higher education, office, religious, retail, and industrial projects. The Project Engineer will have a strong technical background in power distribution, lighting, and low-voltage and medium-voltage systems, along with project leadership experience in the Architecture, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry.

Essential Responsibilities- Lead the design and analysis of electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for buildings and facilities.
- Prepare engineering calculations, system layouts, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with industry codes and standards.
- Select and specify electrical equipment such as transformers, switch gear, generators, panel boards, and lighting controls.
- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IBC, and other relevant codes and regulations.
- Lead the design and analysis of electrical power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, and low-voltage systems for buildings and facilities.
- Prepare engineering calculations, system layouts, and technical specifications to ensure compliance with industry codes and standards.

- Ensure compliance with NEC, NFPA, IEEE, IBC, and other relevant codes and regulations.
- Serve as the lead electrical engineer on projects, coordinating with architects, mechanical engineers, structural engineers, and contractors.
- Develop project schedules, budgets, and work plans, ensuring deliverables meet client expectations and deadlines.
- Review and approve drawings, submittals, and RFIs to maintain project quality and accuracy.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess installation and troubleshoot design challenges.
- Perform QA/QC reviews of electrical designs and calculations to ensure accuracy and constructability.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior electrical engineers and designers.
- Implement best practices in electrical engineering, incorporating energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions.
- Collaborate with clients to understand project requirements and develop customized electrical solutions.
- Support proposal development by preparing technical scopes, estimates, and schedules.
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and industry partners to drive business growth.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- 5+ years of experience in electrical design and engineering within the AEC consulting industry.
- Proficiency in engineering software, including Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and electrical analysis tools.
- Strong knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IEEE, and building codes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, technical acumen, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities to coordinate with internal teams and clients.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Extended hours and weekend work are sometimes required to meet deadlines.
