About This Opportunity
We are seeking an Engineer I to join Cascade Energy! The Engineer I will assess client operations and identify opportunities for maximizing energy efficiency and performance in industrial systems. This role may involve exposure to clients at their site. With assistance from peers and management, the Engineer I takes a consultative role, gathers data, creates optimization models of industrial systems and writes feasibility reports for energy efficiency projects while also managing assigned projects.
The Engineer I contributes to peer support and quality control review as well.

- Support assigned projects by assisting with project management, direction, and accountability.
- Calculate energy savings using approved tools, spreadsheets, and accepted methodologies.
- Engage with industrial clients to understand operations, identify efficiency opportunities, and support relationship growth.
- Communicate technical findings clearly and assist with reports, analyses, and performance documentation.
- Contribute to technical discussions, peer reviews, and basic utility program compliance efforts.
This is a full-time, exempt position located in the Salt Lake City UT area. The team is usually in-office 1 day per week. There will be site visits as needed and an occasional overnight site visit.
QualificationsApplicants for this role are required to have:
- Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, or a related field of study
- 0 – 2 yrs of engineering experience
- Some technical knowledge of refrigeration, compressed air systems, steam systems, custom computer modeling of systems, electrical distribution system design, industrial control and data-logging of system results
A successful candidate should also demonstrate these preferred characteristics and/or skills:
- Experience with industrial facilities and energy efficiency measures is highly preferred
- Experience from Industrial Assessment Centers is a plus
- Familiarity or experience in Python and data analysis

Compensation& Benefits
The salary range for this full-time, exempt position in Salt Lake City, Utah is $61,900 - $92,900. At Cascade, transparency and fairness are core to how we work.
