Refurbishment Intern- Summer

Job Description Summary

Supports manufacturing and process improvement initiatives by assisting with equipment implementation, process validation, product qualification, quality projects, and data-driven problem solving while applying Lean Six Sigma principles in a regulated manufacturing environment.

Performs diverse and complex assignments in support of GEHC product development and manufacturing. Assignments may include, but are not limited to:
Assist in new equipment introduction (fabrication, assembly, and qualification) Assist in Process Validation activities for new test processes (work instruction development and process validation execution) Report/document results of tests and measures. Ensure compliance and quality of all activities Works on projects, often requiring independent decision-making.

Co-lead process/quality improvement projects for operational excellence. Support in product qualification package. Opportunity to learn and execute Lean Six Sigma tools and make positive impact to the business. Conducting data collection and learn to apply data-driven analytical approach to problem solving.

• A full-time student pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or another related technical discipline.
• At least 24 credit hours of coursework toward a bachelor’s degree in engineering, manufacturing, or another related technical discipline; minimum of sophomore year standing.
• A GPA of at least 3.0.
• Strong initiative and ability to work independently and in teams.
• Able to work for a minimum of 10 weeks.
• Must be willing to relocate.
