Tax Accountant - Salt Lake

As a Tax Accountant, you will play a key role in the Corporate Tax Department with responsibility for assisting in preparation of income tax returns, quarterly estimated payments, quarterly income tax provisions, and will assist with tax planning and research.

• Assist in the preparation of the Federal, State and Local income/franchise tax returns and maintenance of tax records
• Prepare quarterly estimated payment calculations
• Assist in the preparation of the quarterly and year-end income tax provisions, including reconciliation of tax accounts and working with ASC 740 concepts
• Work with the Corporate Accounting department to maintain various tax records
• Prepare responses to Federal and State notices
• Perform research projects as assigned, including research and analysis of proposed and existing business transactions
• Remain informed with respect to tax law developments and their impact on the Company
• Complete special projects and other duties as assigned

• Bachelor’s in accounting and/or Master’s in taxation degree strongly preferred
• 0-4+ years of experience in accounting, tax preparation, tax accounting, compliance, laws, regulations and analysis or other directly related experience.
• A combination of education and experience may meet job requirements.
• Basic knowledge of accounting and/or tax accounting practices, principles, applications and analysis methods (ASC 740 knowledge is a benefit)
• Basic corporate knowledge of US and State income and franchise tax laws
• Strong accounting and analytical skills with ability to research tax law and apply relevant tax law to specific fact patterns
• Must have excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
• Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to handle numerous details
• Diligent work ethic and high energy level
• Desire to work with technology, data and automation initiatives
• Proficient in Excel, Word and other Microsoft applications
• Familiar with enterprise reporting systems such as Oracle, etc.
