Collector, Finance & Banking

Utah First Credit Union is seeking a full-time, 40-hour-a-week Collector at our Corporate Office in Downtown Salt Lake City. The central role of the Collector position is to support the Credit Union by planning, organizing, and performing collection activities associated with delinquent accounts, over-the-limit accounts, and returned checks. The schedule for the Collector is Monday-Friday 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM and some Saturdays.

Collector wage starting at $21 / hour, depending on experience. PRIMARY COLLECTOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Receives delinquent or troubled accounts. The successful Collector bears responsibility to bring accounts current or in good standing by reaching out to the customer, finding a mutually beneficial resolution, and/or using legal recourse to recover any losses. Provides exceptional, professional telephone service, clearly articulating the Credit Union's position, and answering questions.

Collector counsels customers about their financial needs and goals in relation to collection activity on delinquent and over-the-limit accounts and works on solutions to meet those needs. Educates customers on possibilities and options available to prevent decline of their credit or to rebuild and re-establish their credit with the Credit Union.

QUALIFICATIONS

Previous collection experience with a full-service credit union or bank required. Knowledge and understanding of Credit Union loan services, policies and procedures. Attention to detail. High school diploma, 18-years and older.
