Job Summary The Department of Neurology is seeking a Grants and Contracts Officer to facilitate the grant process, pre‑ and post‑award. The role includes coordinating research, preparing, finalizing, submitting, and following up on industry, foundation, and/or government grants. Responsibilities also involve researching, drafting proposals, developing budgets, managing the submission process, ensuring deadlines are met, processing grant reconciliations, maintaining records, communicating with funders, and establishing relationships with foundations.
This position provides complex administrative support for various Principal Investigators and their labs. The candidate should demonstrate strong organizational capacity, excellent communication skills, and the ability to balance priorities while ensuring follow‑through with a diverse set of responsibilities. The role will be primarily remote with occasional days in the office.

Pay Rate Range $62,000 to $68,349

Responsibilities- Facilitate the grant process pre‑ and post‑award for the university.
- Coordinate cross‑departmentally to research, prepare, finalize, submit, and follow‑up on industry, foundation, and/or government grants.
- Research and draft proposals, develop budgets, and manage the submission process ensuring deadlines are met.
- Process grant reconciliations, maintain records, and communicate with funders.
- Establish relationships with foundations.
- Conduct complex, important work under minimal supervision with wide latitude for independent judgment.
- Equivalency Statement: 1 year of higher education may be substituted for 1 year of directly related work experience.
- Bachelor’s (or equivalency) + 6 years or Master’s (or equivalency) + 4 years of directly related work experience for a Grants and Contracts Officer, III.
- Alternatively, the department may hire at the following levels as needed:
- Grants and Contracts Officer, II – Bachelor’s + 4 years or Master’s + 2 years.
- Grants and Contracts Officer, III – Bachelor’s + 6 years or Master’s + 4 years.
- Grants and Contracts Officer, IV – Bachelor’s + 8 years or Master’s + 6 years.
- Experience with University pre‑award systems, processes, and policies.
- Experience with University post‑award systems including management reports, university chart fields/account codes, Djobs, and ePAR.
- Developed specialized skills or is multi‑skilled through job‑related training and on‑the‑job experience.
