• At least one full year of experience working as a Law Enforcement Officer (LEO) in an agency whose primary responsibility is responding to calls for service in the community.
• A current Utah Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) certificate as an LEO, or successful completion of the Utah POST waiver exam for out‑of‑state candidates.

• Year‑for‑year credit toward starting pay and vacation accruals. All qualifying experience is credited toward pay rate.
