** Reporting to an Urban Services Division Parking Field Supervisor, incumbent performs parking enforcement duties while assigned to the Urban Services Division parking team. Associated duties include: enforcement of parking codes and ordinances, response to parking-related citizen complaints and inquiries, issuing citations and impounding vehicles.

All incumbents serve in a position of trust and are required to maintain a high level of personal and professional integrity while providing substantial customer service to both external & internal customers, including vendors.

Work Schedule:

Tuesday through Saturday from 3pm to 11:30pm;
Sunday and Monday Off.
** About the Position:
** As part of the Urban Services Enforcement team, you will ensure that members of the public comply with important City ordinances and codes, specifically regarding parking. The team's responsibilities include ensuring compliance with paid parking requirements, managing parking complaints from the public, aiding in parking-related conflict resolution, and responding to parking that does not comport with relevant laws, codes, and ordinances.

Requires shift work including weekends, evening shifts and irregular hours in addition to regularly scheduled shifts and holidays on an as needed basis.

** The Public Services Urban Services Division enhances the safety and accessibility for residents and visitors of Salt Lake City by ensuring ordinances and laws are observed to keep people safe. They also help keep public spaces like downtown, Sugar House, and North Temple clean and well-maintained. Applicants for roles within the Urban Services Division can expect to maintain a high level of personal and professional integrity while providing customer service to the public and internal customers.
** Position Salary Range:*** $23.57 - $31.04

** TYPICAL DUTIES:
*** Enforces and explains parking code violations and ordinances to citizens. Issues parking tickets when indicated at pay station areas, time zone areas, and safety and restricted parking zones, with a handheld enforcement system. Marks restricted and timed zone parking areas and issues parking tickets when appropriate. Patrols and enforces public parking areas and lots to ensure compliance of parking ordinances ensuring the safety of vehicular travel throughout the city.

Performs enforcement duties while either on a bicycle or in a city vehicle. Properly maintains and keeps inspection reports for assigned bicycle and/or vehicle.
* Serves as an ambassador for Salt Lake City, helping citizens & visitors with questions, concerns, and issues related to parking and general information.
* Coordinates enforcement activities with various city departments.
* Responds to and resolves citizen complaints in assigned areas including improper and/or illegally parked vehicles. Reports suspicious activity to the proper agency throughout the city.
* Issues impound notices, impounds vehicles and/or places/removes a vehicle immobilization device on vehicles when required.
* Participates as part of an overall enforcement team and contributes positively towards team performance goals.
* Completes all required documentation and reporting related to operational needs. Accesses secure databases and inputs data as required for official operational purposes. Maintains the integrity of secure informational databases and limits access on a need-to-know basis only.
* Interacts and engages with all individuals experiencing homelessness while maintaining professionalism.
