This position learns the technical functions associated with the delivery of clinical pharmacy services by maintaining proper stock levels in all pharmacy locations, compounding or otherwise preparing, filling, pricing, and delivering pharmaceuticals or other related items. The incumbent may perform duties such as entering prescriptions, completing reports, operating and maintaining automated dispensing devices, inputting computer data, and providing all aspects of customer service required to support Pharmacy Department services.
This role functions under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.
- Perform essential job functions effectively.
- Provide appropriate care to the patient population.
- Understand medical terminology.
- Follow departmental policies and procedures, acting outside only with pharmacist approval.
- Prioritize work routines based on patient care needs.
- Screen medication orders for errors and contraindications, process non-formulary requests.
- Maintain automated pharmacy systems.
- Stand for extended periods and handle heavy supplies as needed.
- Perform mathematical calculations for compounding, dose preparation, and record reconciliation.
Licenses Required
- Current Pharmacy Technician Training license with the State of Utah

Working Conditions and Physical DemandsMust be able to perform light work, exerting up to 20 pounds, standing for long periods, with no adverse environmental exposure.
