Job Summary
This position provides psychiatric care and mental health treatment to patients seen in a Huntsman Mental Health Institute Clinic. The role may involve diagnosing, creating treatment plans, prescribing psychiatric medications, establishing medication management plans, providing psychotherapy and administering medications either in clinic or remotely, within scope of practice and state law.
Responsibilities- Perform mental health evaluations
- Diagnose and create treatment plans
- Triage and make referrals when appropriate
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary treatment team
- Prescribe medication
- Provide psychotherapy and safety planning
- Current RQI Healthcare Provider eCredential through the University of Utah Health RQI system (obtain within 30 days of hire)
- Valid registered license as an advanced practice psychiatric mental health nurse in the intended state of practice
- Completed ANCC certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC)
- 2 years of ambulatory mental health experience
