ARRT registration, Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers, Vascular/Interventional radiography certification or one year of Angio/Interventional experience
Must-Have:
Manual dexterity, ability to lift and transfer patients, effective communication skills
Description:
Ensures proper patient identification and order verification.
Prepares patients for exams using appropriate body mechanics.
Identifies proper exams based on patient needs and utilizes correct exam techniques.
Produces quality images through the appropriate operation of equipment and instrumentation.
Follows proper patient identification protocols.
Thoroughly and accurately completes all required documentation, including timestamps and image storage.
Maintains work area and stocks needed supplies.
Transports patients as needed.
Develops specific knowledge regarding invasive, diagnostic, and interventional supplies, appropriate indications and applications, and proper use and deployment techniques.
At the end of the procedure, may apply closure device, suture the sheath in place, or remove the sheath and apply pressure to obtain hemostasis.
Understands and applies principles of x-ray generation and safety.
Understands and demonstrates the correct operation of imaging equipment.
Provides patient education as needed and assures patient comfort.
Provides procedural assistance as a circulating tech, scrub tech, or monitoring tech according to lab policies and procedures.
