The Department of Pathology at the University of Utah School of Medicine and ARUP Laboratories invite applications from individuals with a strong interest in building an academic career in Clinical Laboratory Microbiology. Applicants should hold either an MD, an MD/PhD, or a PhD degree with board certification or board eligibility in Medical Microbiology.

The successful candidate will serve as the Clinical Laboratory Microbiology Medical Director, responsible for advanced molecular diagnostics, antigen detection and/or serologic testing. Primary responsibilities include:

• Interpretation and reporting of clinical test results
• Quality control and assurance
• Laboratory test development
• Teaching and training of fellows and residents
• Committee service

• MD, MD/PhD or PhD with board certification or eligibility in Medical Microbiology
• Strong academic and clinical background
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Experience in laboratory diagnostics and advanced testing desirable
