SummaryAs a front office leader (supervisor), you will be responsible for guest service and supporting team members at the hotel.
At Hyatt House Tokyo Shibuya, guest service is not divided into separate departments, and we handle a wide range of duties, including bellman, front desk, guest relations, bar, market, pool, and gym.
We currently have about 10 staff members working in guest service, but as we have just opened and have many guests, we have decided to welcome new members to help us provide even greater customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities- Bell duties:
Taking care of guests' luggage, putting them in their rooms, arranging for deliveries, etc. - Front desk duties:
Check-in and check-out using OPERA, settlement duties - Guest service duties:
Providing services for requests from the rooms, guiding guests to external facilities, supporting reservations, arranging for taxis, etc. - Bar/Market duties:
Providing drinks at the bar and sales at the market, etc. - Pool/Gym duties:
Management duties at each facility (water temperature, air temperature, chlorine concentration, equipment management, tidying, etc.)
All staff members joined the company in January, so it's an easy environment to communicate with.
There are five foreign staff members, but communication in Japanese is no problem.
Industry ContextForeign-affiliated hotels are currently in a good environment in the industry, due to inbound demand after COVID-19 and the weak yen.
Hyatt in particular treats its working members as the Hyatt Family and provides high hospitality to guests and employees alike.
Although the owners of each hotel are different, there are strong connections between the hotels through training, secondments, support, etc., and many of the members know each other.
From a selective scale hotel like Shibuya, you can easily move up to a larger, full-service hotel in the future within Hyatt, so I think it's a good fit for people with a career vision in the industry.
