Catering Supervisor

Job Summary

This is a supervisor position that is responsible for ensuring the level of service and standards of the University of Utah Stadium and Arena Food Services are met on a consistent basis. Supporting the kitchen staff with up-to-date information about upcoming events, communicating with clients about their needs at their events, and supervising service during events.

• Meet with staff and go through the details of the event.
• Plan menus and supervise menu execution during events.
• Invoice clients once events have been completed.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Menu planning.
• Knowledge of food and beverage products and cooking procedures.
• Health and safety rules, regulations, and laws.
• Extensive customer service experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff.
• Experience managing fast‑paced food operations.
• Ability to work with a team environment.
• Must be able to work late evenings, holidays, and weekends.
• Must be able to speak and understand English.

• Exposed to continuous walking, standing, and twisting.
• Exposed to intermittent bending, squatting, kneeling, and climbing stairs.

One year of customer service or related experience (or equivalency: one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience); demonstrated human relations and effective communications skills; and basic computer skills are required. Applicants must demonstrate the potential ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.

• Experience managing multiple locations.
• Knowledge of food handling rules and regulations.

Pay Rate Range: $15.00/h

Full time or part time:
Part Time. Work schedule varies according to events scheduled at Rice‑Eccles Stadium and Jon M. Huntsman Center.
