Talent Manager
Location: Salt Lake City, UT – Base Camp Headquarters
Pay: $15.00/hour for Bachelor's Program, $21.00/hour for Master's Program
Hours: ~30–40 hours/week
Dates: June 1, 2026 – August 31, 2026
At Maverik, we don’t just offer jobs, we offer adventures. The HR People Team is offering two project-based internship opportunities for Summer 2026. Each internship provides ownership of a strategic HR initiative with executive visibility and meaningful business impact. Selected candidates will be placed into one of two distinct project tracks, based on interest, experience, and business need. Both roles report to the Corporate HR People Partner, with leadership support from the Sr.
Director of People Support.
Policy Modernization & Governance Initiative
This intern will lead a structured review and modernization effort across Maverik’s HR and company policy library.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct a comprehensive audit of existing HR and company policies
- Identify outdated branding, formatting inconsistencies, and content gaps
- Remove legacy branding elements and align documentation with current corporate standards
- Partner with department leaders to revise and modernize policies for clarity and compliance
- Draft new policies where gaps are identified
- Standardize policy templates and document control practices
- Develop a tracking system/dashboard to monitor revisions, approvals, and implementation timelines
- Present final recommendations and governance improvements to leadership
- Exposure to corporate HR operations and compliance
- Experience in policy lifecycle management
- Cross-functional stakeholder collaboration
- Real-world project coordination and documentation ownership
Organizational Design & Job Architecture Review
This intern will support a strategic review of job structures, leveling, and organizational alignment across teams.
Key Responsibilities- Partner with HR and stakeholder teams to assess job leveling and compensation alignment
- Review and update job descriptions for clarity and scope consistency
- Evaluate current team structures and identify improvement opportunities
- Assist in designing future-state organizational models
- Support workforce planning analysis
- Contribute to documentation and data analysis efforts
- Present findings and recommendations at the conclusion of the internship
- Exposure to job architecture and compensation frameworks
- Insight into workforce planning and organizational design
- Experience analyzing HR data and documentation
- Executive-level visibility into how HR strategy supports business growth
- Collaboration with HR partners and HR People Team leadership
- Experience working within corporate HR systems and documentation tools
- Participation in cross-functional meetings
- Insight into how the HR People Team supports Maverik’s long-term growth
- Full-time college student who has completed sophomore year by June 2026
- Actively enrolled at an accredited university
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- High attention to detail and organizational skills
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel (basic formulas, data organization)
- Professional maturity and ability to handle confidential information
- Interest in Human Resources, Organizational Leadership, Business, or related field
