Role Summary

Join a high-impact delivery program where Agile execution directly supports mission‑critical public services. We are seeking a Senior SAFe Scrum Master to guide one or more Agile teams on an Agile Release Train (ART), helping teams deliver high‑quality software  this role, you will lead SAFe ceremonies, remove delivery blockers, coach teams on Agile best practices, and drive measurable continuous improvement through strong Jira‑based tracking and reporting.

What You’ll Do Team-Level Delivery Leadership
  • Facilitate core team ceremonies:
    • Iteration (Sprint) Planning
    • Daily Stand‑ups
    • Iteration Reviews
    • Retrospectives
  • Coach teams on Scrum, Kanban, and SAFe principles.
  • Improve flow of work and support adherence to WIP limits.
  • Remove impediments and escalates risks/dependencies proactively.
  • Foster transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Track and communicate team metrics (velocity, flow, predictability).
ART / Program-Level Execution
  • Support and participate in Program Increment (PI) Planning.
  • Help teams prepare for PI Planning (capacity planning, readiness).
  • Identify and coordinate cross‑team dependencies and risks.
  • Participate in Scrum of Scrums, ART Sync, and Inspect & Adapt (I&A) events.
  • Partner with the Release Train Engineer (RTE) to strengthen ART execution.
  • Align team delivery to PI objectives and business priorities.
Product & Stakeholder Collaboration
  • Partner with Product Owners on backlog refinement and story readiness.
  • Support quality user story definition and acceptance criteria.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Architects, and stakeholders.
  • Provide clear, data‑driven delivery updates to leadership and partners.
Required Qualifications
  • 5+ years leading software development teams using Agile principles.
  • 5+ years experience in SAFe environments.
  • Proven experience as a Scrum Master on Agile Release Trains (ARTs).
  • Strong understanding of SAFe, Scrum, Kanban, Agile, and Lean.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and conflict‑resolution skills.
  • Hands‑on experience with Jira (or similar tools) for delivery tracking/reporting.
  • Experience in large‑scale or enterprise Agile transformations.
  • Background supporting software delivery (e.g., development, QA, Dev Ops, product).
  • Experience with distributed and multi‑team environments.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with eligibility/enrollment systems or other government systems related to public benefits or payments/collections.
  • SAFe Scrum Master (SSM) certification.
  • Additional SAFe certifications (SA, SPC, RTE) are a plus.
  • Experience with Azure Dev Ops or Rally.
