Senior Linux Administrator –

Location:

Salt Lake City, UT (Hybrid 5 days onsite; 5 days remote rotation).

Advanced Process Solutions is an organization focused on process automation tools and technologies for Fidelity’s critical business processes and driving significant improvements in those processes – both local to individual businesses and cross-enterprise. This role is a key driver in matching the ideal process improvement tools and techniques to individual process optimization opportunities.

Within Advanced Process Solutions, the Systems Engineering team is responsible for infrastructure solutions, automation, application deployments, monitoring and production support.

We are looking for a highly motivated associate with expertise in engineering and production operations. As a Systems Engineer, you will work closely with engineering teams to deploy applications and customer support and business teams to coordinate incident response. You will also work with enterprise infrastructure teams to maintain and support on-prem non-production and production infrastructure.

• Coordinate timely resolution of problem tickets, incident tickets and security findings with engineering teams.
• Participate in an on-call rotation.
• Develop monitoring and management tools and processes.
• Accurately estimate work requirements and create detailed plans.
• Document processes and best practices.
• Communicate effectively in a team environment.
• Identify departmental needs and make suggestions regarding technical direction.
• Work with enterprise infrastructure teams to maintain and support on-prem and production infrastructure.

• Bachelors’ Degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of systems administration experience.
• Demonstrated expertise in Linux systems administration (RHEL preferred).
• Experience supporting large production implementations.
• Experience supporting Apache Tomcat applications.
• Pipeline automation and orchestration utilizing the following stack or similar: GIT, Jenkins, Maven, Docker, JMeter, Artifactory, Kubernetes.
• Developing Internet-based applications that operate in a client/server environment is desirable.
• Application development experience is desirable, e.g. Shell scripting, Python.
• Develop monitoring and management tools and processes.
• Document processes and best practices; develop and maintain technical documentation.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills; ability to work in a collaborative environment.
