Palo Alto Network Engineer; Position

Overview

The Palo Alto engineer will handle administration and configuration of Palo Alto firewalls, focusing on firewall policy management using Panorama and Tufin. Responsibilities include supporting IPSEC configurations, Palo Alto hardware and virtual firewall platforms, Global Protect, and collaborating with IT Security to mitigate vulnerabilities.

• Administration and configuration of Palo Alto firewalls.
• Manage firewall policy using Panorama and Tufin.
• Support IPSEC configurations.
• Maintain Palo Alto hardware and virtual firewall platforms.
• Configure and support Global Protect.
• Collaborate with IT Security to mitigate vulnerabilities.
• Maintain system documentation for audits and compliance.
• Collaborate with other staff and departments to meet project deadlines.
• Use ITIL processes for change, incident, and problem management of perimeter network environments.
• Troubleshoot firewall and network issues.
• Work independently or as part of a team, prioritizing multiple deadlines.

• Experience with Palo Alto firewalls (hardware and virtual).
• Knowledge of BGP routing policy and virtual routers.
• Experience in firewall policy through Panorama and Tufin.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.
• Analytical and organizational skills.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes.

Expert Level

Contract; based in Salt Lake City, UT. Fully remote.

Pay range: $70.00–$75.00 per hour. Eligible benefits (depending on classification and length of employment) include medical, dental and vision, critical illness, accident and hospital, 401(k) plan, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, health spending account, transportation benefits, employee assistance program, and paid time off.
