Christensen, Inc. is a privately held, mid‑market fuel, propane, and lubricants distributor operating across the western United States. As the organization continues to modernize and scale its systems landscape, there is a need for a Business Systems Analyst – Service Now & ERP to provide hands‑on operational ownership of core enterprise platforms. This role sits within the Finance & Accounting Applications & Systems Team (FAAST), a centralized team supporting 15+ financial and business systems and the integrations between them.
The Business Systems Analyst is responsible for day‑to‑day support, configuration, and optimization of Service Now and enterprise ERP platforms, while also supporting a broader portfolio of integrated systems through ticket‑based intake and troubleshooting. The role operates in a fast‑paced, high‑visibility environment and requires strong prioritization, independent judgment, and close collaboration with Finance, Accounting, Operations, and IT stakeholders.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for ERP‑ and Service Now‑related help tickets, ensuring timely resolution and clear, professional communication.
- Triage, manage, and resolve help tickets across multiple financial and business systems supported by FAAST, escalating or partnering with other teams as appropriate.
- Balance ticket workload across systems while meeting service expectations and minimizing business disruption.
- Act as the primary Service Now analyst responsible for day‑to‑day administration, configuration, and support.
- Configure, test, and support Service Now functionality including forms, workflows, roles, permissions, and data structures.
- Support enhancement requests, backlog items, and continuous improvement initiatives aligned with business priorities.
- Identify opportunities to streamline processes, reduce manual effort, and improve user experience through Service Now capabilities.
- Provide hands‑on ERP support including transactional troubleshooting, data validation, and user access management.
- Partner with finance, accounting, and operations teams to resolve ERP issues impacting critical business processes.
- Support ERP transition and modernize activities as platforms evolve.
- Support and troubleshoot system integrations, including API based data exchanges between ERP, Service Now, and other financial systems.
- Assist with data mapping, validation, and transformation logic to ensure accurate data flow.
- Execute advanced SQL queries to support troubleshooting, validation, and reporting.
- Maintain integration and system documentation.
- Work directly with business users to understand system issues, document requirements, and deliver sustainable solutions.
- Maintain data accuracy across supported systems and proactively resolve discrepancies.
- Create and maintain system documentation and job aids to support scalability and audit readiness.
- Assume other responsibilities as assigned.
- Collaborate with stakeholders on requirements, enhancements, and training efforts.
- Support accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement within FAAST.
- Operate independently while aligning work with team priorities, governance standards, and roadmap direction.
- Contribute positively to cross‑functional partnerships and model Christensen’s core values.
- BA/BS in Business, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
- Hands‑on experience supporting enterprise ERP systems and Service Now.
- Experience working in a ticket‑driven, multi‑system support environment.
- Experience supporting integrations, APIs, and data mapping.
- Advanced SQL query experience.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
- ERP implementation or system transition experience.
- Familiarity with Excel, reporting, or automation platforms.
- Professional office environment with regular computer use.
- Extended periods of sitting or standing.
- Occasional lifting of up to 20 lbs.
