Use both classical and contemporary data science techniques blended with deep experience to produce practical, explainable analytics solutions. Stay up to date with new techniques and technologies and make recommendations to management accordingly. Set the bar for high-caliber data analytics and support a culture of “know your data” by generating readily available and intuitive insights.

• Using R, Python or SAS, conduct thorough review of company data to ensure quality standards are met. Automation of all data analytics processes is expected.
• Develop and own the dependent variables used by the department. Ensure consistency of these values across platforms and reporting tools.
• Build proof-of-concept models, graphical representations of analysis and custom tools with little to no development work required.
• Using R, Python or SAS along with SQL, develop operational data pipelines to support data exploration for the team. As needed, work with the Data Engineering team to replicate that which is needed in production.
• Understand and use modeling techniques such as (but not limited to) Logistic Regression, XGBoost, Deep Learning and Neural Networks. Capable of building and assessing each and selecting the best model given the business needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Knowledge of data management, data governance and data quality principles.
• Capable of reconciling reporting metrics, formulas, and data values across various platforms and databases being used by the company.
• Knowledge of data privacy and security regulations.
• Proficiency with analytics tools and data platforms, such as but not limited to SQL Server and Excel. Experience with Microsoft Azure platform is a bonus.
• Expert level proficiency with SQL, relational databases, and at least one of the following programming languages: SAS, R, Python.
• Deep knowledge of sound statistical methods, particularly those related to modeling and consumer credit performance analysis.

• Master of science degree in statistics, economics, applied mathematics or similar quantitative discipline.
• 10+ years of experience in data science. Experience in consumer lending or similar financial services background strongly preferred.
• Extensive experience solving data and analytics problems using sound, quantitative approaches.

• Hybrid home/cubicle work options will be available with some in-office work required.
