Job Summary

The University Analytics & Institutional Reporting (UAIR) office houses a transformational group of data professionals that turn complex university data into meaningful, highly valued information that is trusted by university leadership to drive strategic decisions, and generate official figures reported to regulatory, external and public agencies. The UAIR team operates with an iterative mindset of continuous improvement, learning and adapting strategies as we go.

This position will be responsible for executing, interpreting, and analyzing survey projects and datasets to support strategic planning, operational improvements, and institutional planning. The Survey Manager oversees a team that serves as the university’s primary point of contact for institutional survey coordination, overseeing the full lifecycle of surveys administered to students, faculty, and staff. Acting as a subject matter expert in survey methodology, the Survey Manager offers consultative services to campus partners to design rigorous research instruments, ensure methodological integrity, and translate survey findings into actionable insights.

The manager combines advanced technical skills in survey research methods, data analysis, reporting, and visualization with a deep understanding of the university context. The manager ensures the generation of executive level qualitative and quantitative analyses, communicating results clearly and accurately, and enabling survey data to be leveraged by the university.

Responsibilities
  • End to End Survey Project Leadership — Lead all phases of internal survey projects, including scoping, design, sampling, deployment, analysis, and dissemination of results.

  • Qualitative Research — Conduct focus groups, interviews, or other qualitative methods to gather deeper insights when appropriate.
  • Survey Administration Methodology — Select appropriate administration modes (online, mixed mode, in person, etc.) based on audience, data type, and research goals.
  • Quantitative & Qualitative Analysis — Analyze survey data using statistical and qualitative techniques; identify trends, correlations, and significant findings that inform institutional priorities.
  • Reporting & Visualization — Produce clear, concise, and visually compelling reports, dashboards, and presentations tailored to executive, administrative, and campus audiences.
  • Communication of Findings — Present results verbally and in written form, translating complex data into actionable insights for decision makers.
  • Institutional Survey Calendar Management — Maintain and oversee the university’s master survey calendar to prevent survey fatigue, ensure coordination across units, and uphold institutional standards for survey administration.
  • Institutional Expertise & Consultation — Serve as a university‑wide resource on survey best practices, tools, processes, and research standards.
