Tier 1​/VoIP Technician - Network Operations Center; Entry-Level

Overview

RyTel Hosted is looking for a Tier 1 VoIP Technician to join our 24/7/365 Network Operations Center (NOC). This is an entry-level opportunity for someone eager to build a career in telecommunications and network operations. As the first point of technical contact, you'll help maintain and troubleshoot our voice, text, fax, IP phone, and data services. You ll work closely with customers, on-site technicians, and carrier service providers, while partnering with Tier 2 and Tier 3 technicians to resolve VoIP and network issues.

Day to day, you ll monitor trouble tickets, email, and phone systems for signs of trouble and take action to keep service running smoothly. This is an in-office role based in Taylorsville, UT, with occasional local travel and rare out-of-state trips.

• Monitor network devices, interfaces, and trouble tickets; respond to incoming support calls
• Identify and resolve customer network issues affecting VoIP and related services
• Coordinate with carriers and vendors on trouble tickets and dispatches
• Field calls and emails regarding service issues or configuration changes
• Configure, install, and maintain communication equipment for customer setups
• Train customers on using the RyTel online portal
• Stay current on new communication technologies and equipment
• Build strong customer relationships that support service growth and satisfaction
• Contribute to team improvements and participate in on-call support on alternate weekends, as needed
• Take on additional duties as assigned
