System Administrator

We are seeking a System Administrator 1 to join our Security and Electronic Systems (SES) business unit. As part of the SES Strategic Business Unit, you will help design, engineer, integrate, operate and maintain electronic security services—including intrusion detection, access control, biometric authentication, video surveillance, audiovisual, IT systems, perimeter defense, and command and control systems—for federal, local, and commercial customers.

In this role you will monitor, maintain, and test Physical Access Control, CCTV, PSIM, and other electronic security systems and support implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of information technology (IT) systems in support of endpoint devices. The position provides Tier 1 helpdesk support.

• Provide assistance to end users in accessing and using IT systems.
• Answer help desk phone calls; triage initial calls and determine when escalation is required.
• Utilize technology‑based problem‑tracking system (e.g., ticketing system) to document calls, troubleshooting steps, and any escalations.
• Monitor enterprise system status for problems such as network outages or degraded services and notify senior administrators when required.
• Support daily operations, including monitoring and reviewing system logs.
• Support configuration and management of Windows operating systems and install/load OS software.
• Support desktop hardware and OS set‑up, imaging software loading, and antivirus updates.
• Support execution of IAVA updates and patching to ensure compliance with Information Assurance (IA) standards.
• Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to Windows‑based operating systems.
• Install, configure, and maintain third‑party applications.
• Perform root‑cause analysis on significant issues at the appropriate level of support.
• Support preventive maintenance actions such as system backups, error log reviews, database size analysis, and integrity checks.
• Stay current with technological developments and recommend new technology to improve operations.
• Contribute to technical documentation, such as standard operating procedures (SOPs) and build documentation for technical and non‑technical audiences.
• Perform all duties under direct supervision.

• BS degree and 0+ years of progressive experience, or High School Diploma and 6+ years of progressive experience.
• System administrator experience performing triage, resolving, and analyzing system problems; implementing new workstations and system extensions.
• Demonstrated understanding of Windows patching and vulnerability remediation.
• Basic knowledge of large‑scale networking, VLANs, and routing.
• Reliable attendance at customer site during required work hours.
• Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, holidays, and on‑call as needed.
• Minimum IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+).
• Background working with multidisciplinary teams.
• Time‑management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives.
• Proficient with MS Excel, Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.
