Carrier Solutions Engineer

Following our recent launch, we’re growing our Solutions Engineering team with a highly organized, customer-focused Carrier Solutions Engineer who can bridge technical capabilities with real-world carrier needs. In this role, you’ll partner closely with carrier partners, prospects, and internal development teams to turn complex carrier-specific requirements into successful implementations and impactful outcomes.

Role Overview

The Carrier Solutions Engineer owns the technical relationship with our carrier partners, managing carrier-specific projects end-to-end alongside our development team. This individual serves as the primary technical and project point of contact for carrier integrations and custom initiatives, translating carrier requirements into scoped technical projects, coordinating delivery with engineering, and keeping carrier stakeholders informed and aligned throughout.

The ideal candidate understands the operational rhythms of parcel carriers, last-mile delivery networks, sortation facilities, and shipping software ecosystems — and can speak with authority to engineering teams and carrier operators alike, while also managing timelines, priorities, and communication across both sides.

What You’ll Do

• Own carrier-specific projects from scoping through delivery, managing timelines, priorities, and dependencies in partnership with the development team.
• Translate carrier requirements and requests into clear technical specifications, user stories, and project plans that engineering can execute against.
• Run regular project check-ins and status updates with carrier stakeholders, the development team, and internal leadership, proactively flagging risks and blockers.
• Maintain project tracking and documentation for all active carrier initiatives, ensuring visibility into scope, status, and next steps at any time.

Solutions Engineering

• Serve as the technical authority on carrier integration architecture, API usage, EDI/label/manifest formats, and platform capabilities.
• Design and scope carrier-specific technical solutions, including integration approach, data mapping, and connectivity configuration.
• Partner with Account Executives and Customer Success on technical discovery and solution scoping for new or expanding carrier relationships.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues surfaced during carrier onboarding, integration, or ongoing operation, looping in engineering as needed.

Customer-Facing Coordination

• Act as the primary point of contact for carrier partners on all things related to their active projects, building trusted, ongoing relationships.
• Facilitate communication between carrier stakeholders and the development team, ensuring requirements, feedback, and changes are captured and acted on accurately.
• Manage expectations with carriers around timelines, scope changes, and trade-offs, communicating clearly and proactively.
• Lead or support go-live and hypercare periods, ensuring a smooth transition from implementation to steady-state operation.
• Maintain deep knowledge of parcel and carrier industry standards, protocols, and integrations.
• Contribute to the internal knowledge base with technical guides, integration blueprints, and project playbooks for the broader solutions and sales teams.
• Stay current with industry trends, competitive landscape, and carrier technology developments to inform product roadmap discussions.

What You’ll Bring

• 3+ years of experience in a Solutions Engineer, Technical Project Manager, or Implementation Engineer role within a software company, ideally coordinating directly with a development team.
• Direct experience working with or within a parcel carrier, regional carrier, freight forwarder, 3PL, or shipping technology company.
