The Associate Asset Technician will provide hands-on management of assets that pass through our Salt Lake City Office. They will be responsible for the processing of laptops, tablets, and peripherals throughout the device's lifecycle (Receiving, Deployment Readiness, Warranty Repair, Redeployment Processing, and Retirement).

This role will manage the Warranty process for our devices, with their respective vendors/manufacturers. This includes identifying & classifying defects, sending them to the vendor for repair, and receiving them back into inventory upon repair completion. This person will be responsible for the deployment readiness process (cleaning, imaging, and configuring) for laptops in Site Support & Talent Lifecycle Management. They will also be responsible in retiring assets, at the end of their lifecycle, and working with our E-recycling vendor in appropriately disposing of those assets.

The Associate Asset Manager will work closely with the Operations Asset Manager to reach a goal of 100% asset accuracy within our environment. This includes redefining current policy to enable enhanced transparency into our assets and exploring new avenues of reaching offline assets.

This role requires advanced knowledge of laptop hardware, operating software (Windows 7 & up + macOS 10.12 & up), and foundational knowledge of end-point monitoring software (Ncentral, JAMF, InTune, and AzureAD).

As an Operations Asset Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring employees have reliable, secure, and properly configured technology throughout the asset lifecycle. This position is responsible for laptop and tablet warranty management, hardware repairs, asset deployment, inventory control, and secure disposal processes. Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering an exceptional internal customer experience.

You'll Do
  • Manage the end-to-end warranty repair process for laptops and tablets.
  • Clean, image, configure, deploy, and dispose of technology assets throughout their lifecycle in accordance with asset management standards.
  • Partner with Site Support and Talent Lifecycle Management teams to ensure asset return policies and action items are completed.
  • Assign laptop assets to users within Service Now and maintain detailed asset records, including repair and maintenance documentation.
  • Perform secure data wipes on devices prior to disposal to ensure organizational data protection.
  • Coordinate and organize disposal pickups with approved e-recycling vendors.
  • Upgrade laptop RAM and storage components to meet organizational standards.
  • Perform monthly stockroom audits and maintain accurate inventory records.
