• design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot classified network infrastructure supporting operations up to the top secret level
• engineer secure network solutions including routing, switching, firewall, and vpn technologies
• monitor and optimize network performance, availability, and capacity across mission-critical environments
• investigate and resolve complex network issues, outages, and security-related events
• support classified network compliance activities including system hardening, audit readiness, and accreditation efforts
• apply cybersecurity best practices to network architecture, segmentation, access controls, and device configuration
• create and maintain network diagrams, implementation plans, technical documentation, and standard operating procedures
• execute network changes in accordance with established configuration management and change control processes
• partner with cybersecurity, systems administration, and program teams to maintain secure and compliant infrastructure
• support technology refresh, network modernization, and lifecycle replacement efforts
• provide technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced team members as needed
• participate in on-call rotation, scheduled maintenance windows, and after-hours operational support as required

• bachelor’s degree in information technology, computer science, engineering, or related field and a minimum of 4 years of prior relevant experience, or graduate degree and a minimum of 2 years of prior related experience, or in lieu of a degree, a minimum of 8 years of prior related experience
• experience supporting enterprise network infrastructure in secure or classified environments
• experience with routers, switches, firewalls, vpns, and network monitoring/management tools
• strong knowledge of tcp/ip, ospf, bgp, vlans, acls, stp, and qos
• experience with secure network design, implementation, and sustainment
• ability to troubleshoot and resolve advanced network performance and connectivity issues
• experience with technical documentation, network diagrams, and formal change management processes
• strong communication and collaboration skills
• ability to work onsite in salt lake city, ut
• active secret security clearance required, or ability to obtain and maintain one as required by the program

• experience supporting dod or other federal classified network environments
• familiarity with disa stigs, rmf, nist 800-53, and related cybersecurity/compliance frameworks
• ccna certification
• experience with cisco, palo alto, juniper, or equivalent enterprise technologies
• additional certifications such as security+, ccie, cissp or firewall/security vendor certifications
• experience with enclave architecture, cross-domain solutions, or air-gapped network environments
• experience supporting network modernization, infrastructure refresh, or mission systems integration efforts
• prior experience serving as a technical lead, senior engineer, or subject matter expert

this position requires an active secret clearance at time of hire and the ability to obtain and maintain a top secret security clearance.
