Job Description
  • The Marketing Technology Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, implementation, and optimization of marketing technology tools and platforms within the organization.
  • This role operates at the intersection of marketing and technology, ensuring that digital solutions align with business objectives and enhance marketing effectiveness.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical understanding of marketing platforms along with a deep knowledge of marketing strategies.
  • This role involves technical aspects but operates from a business perspective.
  • This individual will work closely with stakeholders, internal & external developers and is a key contact with other departments.
  • The Marketing Technology Manager reports to Marketing Operations while working closely with Marketing Stakeholders, Engineering, Project Managers, Product Owners, Procurement, Legal and Security.
  • This is a full-time in-office position working with our Marketing team out of our corporate headquarters in Salt Lake City, Utah.
  • The primary responsibility of this position is the continual monitoring, evaluation and optimization of the marketing technology stack.
  • This entails regular review of technologies with product owners and the usage of those technologies.
  • The Marketing Technology Administrator will provide opportunities for additional training, implementation, third-party assistance, adjustments or additions to the technology stack back to business leaders.
  • Act as a bridge between marketing stakeholders and the technical teams, ensuring both sides are aligned on project goals and requirements.
  • Gather input from marketers about needs and integrations, then translate those requirements into actionable tasks.
  • Champion Data-Driven Decision Making:
    Establish clear success metrics tied to business impact.
  • Use data, experimentation, and customer insights to guide product strategy and measure progress.
  • Roadmap Ownership:
    Define the technical roadmap and backlog for tools.
  • Vendor Management:
    Evaluate third-party software, lead "build vs. buy" decisions, and manage vendor relationships and costs.
  • Coordinate with procurement, security, and legal to procure new tools and renew existing platforms.
  • Cross-Functional Alignment:
    Translate business needs from Marketing into technical user stories.
  • Determines how well the department can support its use, defines a high-level understanding of its lifecycle (product implementation, maintenance, and retirement), and a check for potential alternatives.
  • Responsible for assessing the feasibility of significant functionality changes and requests from stakeholders to existing systems that are managed or shared by the Marketing Website Team.
