Job Summary Technical Project Managers Establish project teams and provide overall direction for technical projects from initiation through to delivery. Perform project requirements, estimation, and budget management. Formulate project scope and delivery strategies and establish milestones/schedules. Maintain and report project status and monitor progress of all team members. Gather required data from end-users to evaluate objectives, goals, and scope to create technical specifications.
Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments in order to ensure that all targets and requirements are met. Keep leadership informed of key issues that may impact project completion, budget, or other results. The Technical Project Manager is responsible for leading the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex IT and telecommunications projects from initiation through completion. This role ensures projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, while aligning technical solutions with organizational goals and business objectives.
The Technical Project Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, vendors, and leadership to deliver high-quality technology solutions using Agile and industry best practices.
Minimum Qualifications
Education and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible project management experience leading technical or IT-related projects.
• An equivalent combination of education and relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of a bachelor's degree. Generally, one (1) year of directly related professional experience may substitute for one (1) year of required education, at the discretion of the hiring manager. Responsibilities
• Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and successful delivery of multiple concurrent IT projects.
• Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, schedules, milestones, and success criteria.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, timelines, and resource allocations.
• Monitor project progress and proactively adjust plans to meet changing business and technical requirements.
• Identify project risks, issues, dependencies, and constraints, and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Ensure projects are completed on schedule, within budget, and in alignment with organizational priorities. Technical Leadership
• Lead cross-functional technical teams throughout the project lifecycle, from project initiation through implementation and closeout.
• Gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements, translating them into actionable project plans.
• Coordinate technical resources, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure successful solution delivery.
• Serve as the primary liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams to ensure clear communication and alignment.
• Support solution design, implementation planning, testing, deployment, and operational readiness. Team Leadership and Communication
• Foster a collaborative, accountable, and high-performing project team environment.
• Facilitate project meetings, Agile ceremonies, and stakeholder discussions.
• Communicate project status, milestones, risks, issues, and decisions to executive leadership and project stakeholders.
• Build strong working relationships across departments, vendors, and customer organizations.
• Resolve project conflicts and remove obstacles to maintain project momentum. Budget, Governance, and Reporting
