Job Summary:

The Supply Chain Planner is responsible for developing and executing enterprise supply planning strategies that balance customer demand, inventory investment, manufacturing capacity, and service level objectives. This position serves as a key business partner to Supply Chain, Procurement, Manufacturing, Sales, Finance, and Operations by developing inventory strategies, and recommending actions that optimize inventory performance and production efficiency.

This is a role with opportunity to shape and build processes, to improve coordination interdepartmentally and better utilize our software systems, so the right candidate will be flexible and motivated to take on other projects to help make improvements.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Supply Planning & Inventory Strategy

  • Develop enterprise supply plans that balance forecast demand, inventory investment, production capacity, and customer service objectives.
  • Establish inventory planning strategies and safety stock recommendations based on demand variability and business objectives.
  • Monitor and expedite production as required based on changes in inventory position
  • Analyze forecast accuracy data to adjust production plans
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports relevant to supply chain and manufacturing performance
  • Communicate to Sales and Other key stakeholders about Inventory position
  • Analyze expiry dates on existing inventory to account for short dating on slow moving inventory
  • Provide support for new Product Launches and Discontinued items
  • Help streamline the demand planning process and be a contributor in Oracle optimization projects.
  • Develop inventory optimization strategies across multiple product families.
  • Recommend changes to inventory policies, reorder strategies, and planning parameters.

Cross-Functional Business Partnership

  • Partner with Sales, Finance, Procurement, Manufacturing, Warehouse, and Operations leadership to align supply plans with business objectives.
  • Participate in Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) meetings and provide planning recommendations.
  • Present inventory analyses, planning assumptions, and supply recommendations to leadership.
  • Provide guidance regarding inventory investment, production priorities, and supply risks.
  • Lead cross-functional discussions regarding inventory shortages, constrained materials, and production recovery strategies.

Data Analytics & Business Decision Support

  • Develop planning models that improve forecast accuracy and inventory optimization.
  • Analyze business trends and recommend strategic planning adjustments.
  • Evaluate production performance, inventory investment, and customer demand trends to support operational decision‑making.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports relevant to supply chain and manufacturing performance
  • Identify opportunities to reduce inventory carrying costs while maintaining required customer service levels.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives within supply planning and inventory management.
  • Recommend improvements to planning processes, ERP workflows, and reporting systems.
  • Help streamline the demand planning process and be a contributor in Oracle optimization projects.
  • Develop standardized planning procedures and best practices.

Business Risk Management

  • Monitor inventory, supplier, and production risks that may impact customer service.
  • Develop contingency plans for supply interruptions and capacity constraints.
  • Evaluate supply chain risks and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Escalate significant planning concerns to leadership with recommended solutions.
  • Balance customer service objectives with inventory investment and operational capacity.

Leadership

Even without supervisory responsibilities, exempt employees often lead projects.

  • Lead planning‑related projects supporting inventory optimization and operational improvements.
