PositionSummary
As the Purchasing and Inventory Specialist – Appliances, you will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and tracking appliance products to support customer projects and company inventory needs. This role includes working with vendors, placing purchase orders, monitoring delivery timelines, supporting inventory accuracy, and helping ensure product availability. Strong organization, attention to detail, vendor communication, and analytical skills are essential for success.
Key Responsibilities- Source and purchase appliance products to support customer projects and inventory needs.
- Place purchase orders and ensure accurate product details, pricing, quantities, and delivery expectations.
- Monitor purchase orders from placement through delivery to ensure timely product arrival.
- Communicate with vendors to confirm pricing, availability, lead times, order status, delays, and discrepancies.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and support cost‑effective procurement practices.
- Monitor appliance inventory levels and assist with replenishment planning.
- Collaborate with inventory, warehouse, sales, and operations teams to support accurate and timely order fulfillment.
- Track and help resolve backorders, substitutions, receiving discrepancies, and damaged or missing items.
- Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory records in ERP/procurement systems.
- Support process improvements related to purchasing accuracy, inventory visibility, and product availability.
- Purchasing, procurement, inventory management, supply chain, or related experience preferred.
- Appliance industry experience preferred.
- Strong negotiation, organizational, and analytical skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with vendors and internal teams.
- High attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.
- Ability to prioritize, problem‑solve, and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel; experience with ERP/procurement systems preferred.
- Associate’s degree or higher in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Logistics, or related field preferred but not required.
- Work performed primarily in an office/warehouse support environment.
- Regular computer and phone use.
- Occasional time in warehouse areas may be required to verify product, inventory, or receiving details.
- May require occasional lifting or moving of product samples or materials up to 25 pounds.
