Transportation and Logistics Manager

Location: Salt Lake City Metro Area, UT (On-Site)

Our client is an established consumer products company with global manufacturing and distribution operations across multiple continents. The company sells through major retail channels worldwide and has a strong track record of sustainability-focused improvements across its supply chain.

As Transportation and Logistics Manager, you will optimize transportation and logistics operations through data-driven strategies, strong partnerships, process improvements, and industry best practices — improving scalability, gross margin, budget performance, and customer satisfaction.

• Drive monthly reporting to senior operations leadership regarding key initiatives and projects
• Develop monthly and quarterly financial budgets for transportation and warehousing, and report on performance to internal stakeholders
• Coordinate effective use of carriers to meet inbound and outbound capacity, service, and least-cost objectives
• Identify, prioritize, and execute gross margin opportunities within the supply chain
• Prepare monthly and yearly volume forecasts for 3PL and transportation partners
• Evaluate 3PL/transportation partner performance (scorecards) and lead quarterly business reviews
• Negotiate transportation rates and contracts
• Establish supply-chain performance metrics tied to company goals
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives to reduce cost, improve OTIF, and reduce damages/delays
• Recommend purchases of new or improved technology and coordinate with internal stakeholders
• Provide timely cross-functional communication to improve overall company performance
• Ensure accurate billing and timely resolution of claims
• Manage inbound cost points including duties, tariff classifications, and freight
• Other duties as assigned

• At least 8 years of relevant work experience
• Ability to work with international and domestic freight forwarders
• Ability to work independently with headquarters or vendor partners
• Self-motivated, responsible, independent, hardworking, and able to perform under pressure
• Fluent English skills, written and spoken
• Proficiency in PC skills, including Excel, Word, and Power Point
• Immediate availability preferred
• Professional attitude, strong organizational skills, and dependability
