Working Lead – Custodial Services
This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for guiding the custodial team in maintaining a clean, safe, and distraction‑free environment. The Working Lead ensures assigned areas are consistently kept in a sanitary and orderly condition. Additional responsibilities may include support for grounds maintenance, special events, and other manual labor tasks as needed.
Shift Information- Location:
Headquarters Facilities, Salt Lake City, UT - Monday to Friday, 5:00 PM – 1:30 AM
- Rotating weekends, events, and holidays as scheduled.
- A Valid Driver’s License Is Required For This Position.
$25.00/hr depending on experience and education.
Please note:
This position does not qualify for students required to work on the Ensign College Campus.
- Employee performance management including evaluations, feedback and the development of improvement plans.
- Coordinating the daily work of approximately 8–12 people.
- Teaching, training and modeling processes, procedures and practices.
- Motivating, building, and developing team members.
- Creating a culture of safety within assigned group.
- Presentations to groups of team members, peers, or superiors as assigned.
- Completing administrative tasks.
- Cleaning offices, restrooms, public areas, etc. as instructed including fixtures such as sinks, toilets, tubs, showers, mirrors, air vents, furniture, equipment, window sills, walls, etc.
- Operating mechanized cleaning equipment, such as vacuums, polishers, buffers, large scrubbers and sweepers, power washers, and extraction equipment.
- Operating balers, shredders, aerial lifts, and forklifts.
- Window and building exterior cleaning possibly including fountains.
- Cleaning carpets, rugs, upholstery and drapes.
- Sanitizing areas, furnishings, or fixtures as instructed.
- Wet or damp mop floors.
- Dust or polish furnishings, light fixtures, window sills, wood paneling, etc.
- Dispose of trash, waste, and other materials.
- Perform emergency cleanups including floods, bodily fluids, spills, etc.
- Restock supplies.
- Move furniture, supplies, and miscellaneous equipment.
- Remove leaves or snow.
- On‑call responsibilities may be required.
- May be assigned to executive VIP responsibilities.
- Report safety or security issues and needed repairs.
- Perform other duties and attend meetings as assigned.
- Autonomy – Perform work under minimal supervision. Perform self‑directed work while handling complex issues, referring only the most complicated issues to higher‑level staff.
- Leadership or Supervision of Others – Provide leadership, coaching, and/or mentoring to others. Responsible for employee performance management and training. Organize and assign work of subordinates. Responsible for crew safety. Complete administrative paperwork as necessary. Maintain good public relations.
- Environment – May require working in damp, dusty, and/or dirty areas. May require work with various cleaning solvents and chemicals.
- Proven leadership experience preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of subject matter; typically two or more years related work experience.
- Previous Church custodial work experience preferred.
- Able to utilize technology to meet the administrative needs of the position and increase productivity and efficiency.
