Location: Salt Lake City, UT
Salary: $75,000 - $95,000
Shift: 1st, 4am - 4:30pm. Tuesday - Saturday and Every other Wednesday

Position Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading a team of maintenance technicians to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of manufacturing equipment and facility assets. This role focuses on employee development, equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Responsibilities
  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture by adhering to and enforcing all safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead, schedule, train, mentor, and develop maintenance team members to achieve operational and performance objectives.
  • Monitor employee performance, provide coaching and feedback, and administer corrective action when necessary.
  • Foster a professional, respectful, and collaborative work environment that supports employee engagement and productivity.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Maintenance, Production, and other functional departments.
  • Coordinate activities with maintenance personnel, contractors, service providers, and vendors.
  • Manage spare parts inventory and partner with inventory control or storeroom personnel to ensure parts availability.
  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance plans aligned with organizational reliability goals.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, external trainers, and vendors to maintain current maintenance practices and technologies.
  • Support equipment reliability improvement initiatives and continuous improvement efforts.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations and assist employees in establishing professional development goals.
  • Administer attendance policies and employee timekeeping processes.
  • Address and resolve workplace conflicts in a timely and professional manner.
  • Participate in emergency response activities, including incident response, first aid administration (when trained), and facility emergency procedures.
  • Support organizational initiatives related to safety, quality, productivity, and employee engagement.

Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Technical training, certification, or degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or processing environment preferred.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related technical discipline is a plus.
  • Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience will be considered.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Knowledge of preventive, predictive, and reliability-centered maintenance programs.
  • Strong leadership and team development capabilities.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills across all organizational levels.
  • Ability to work independently and provide clear direction to others.
  • Advanced troubleshooting skills related to:
    • Electrical systems and controls
    • Variable frequency drives (VFDs)
    • Pneumatic systems
    • Hydraulic systems
    • Mechanical equipment
    • Reading technical drawings and schematics
    • Welding and fabrication
  • Sound decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to balance equipment reliability, maintenance priorities, and operational requirements.
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage contractors, vendors, and external service providers.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with a focus on efficiency and reliability.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to onboard and train new employees effectively.
  • Ability to work in a diverse, team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
