Job Description

The Development Manager will take ownership of development project teams from inception through stabilization, with a focus on LIHTC and other affordable housing developments. This role includes leading cross-functional project teams and managing project teams while reporting to a Director of Development. The Manager will work closely with external consultants and internal departments including accounting, construction, asset management, and capital strategies.

Responsibilities
  • Lead project execution, mentor team members, and drive key strategic initiatives across the development pipeline
  • Oversee and manage multiple multifamily developments, including acquisition, entitlements, financing, construction, and stabilization.
  • Supervise, mentor, and review work of Associates and Analysts, providing structured development opportunities.
  • Oversee project teams in preparation of pro formas, budgets, and financial packages; approve final underwriting and assumptions.
  • Direct LIHTC and financing application processes in coordination with consultants and government agencies.
  • Manage closings for land, financing, and partnership agreements.
  • Serve as primary liaison with municipalities, lenders, investors, and community stakeholders.
  • Report on project progress, budgets, and risks to senior leadership.
  • Uphold compliance with regulatory and lender requirements.
  • Champion Lotus’s mission of “Mindfully Creating”
  • Other duties as assigned.
Expectation
  • Full P&L Responsibilities.
  • Ability to take a LIHTC deal cradle to grave with minimal oversight.
  • Lead and complete the LIHTC Application.
  • Has been a part of at least one deal full cycle development and has experienced the different stages of development across at least three deals.
  • Develop team talent through coaching, delegation, and accountability.
  • 5+ years of experience in multifamily development, with at least two LIHTC full-cycle projects completed.
  • Help source Deals.
Education & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, real estate or other related field (MRED, MSF or relevant master’s a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in multifamily development, affordable housing, or a related field, with demonstrated experience managing successful projects.
  • Strong knowledge of LIHTC, public financing programs, and affordable housing policy.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously, from early-stage planning through construction and stabilization.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling and development budgeting.
  • Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Experience working with public agencies, lenders, investors, architects, engineers, and construction teams.
Work Environment & Schedule
