About the RoleThe Material Handler plays a crucial role in our operations, moving materials to support production needs. They ensure inventory accuracy in the electronic inventory management system and by physical location, help clean and organize the work area, and monitor and maintain material handling equipment, including routine maintenance as necessary. This hands‑on role requires sitting, standing, lifting, and squatting throughout the day and is essential to support the department in maximizing customer satisfaction for both internal and external customers.
Responsibilities- Prepare and issue components to production work orders utilizing the in‑house ERP system.
- Assist with inventory control and warehouse organization.
- Assist Biomerics employees with timely responses to requests and inquiries.
- Report problems with components, quality, processes, and equipment to supervisors.
- Complete assigned training and tasks.
- Complete job responsibilities with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a clean work environment.
- Understand the importance of safety in the workplace.
- Work in a cleanroom environment.
- Comply with the policies, guidelines, and regulatory requirements of Biomerics.
- Other duties assigned by supervisors.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and guidance documents.
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English.
- Ability to complete paperwork in English.
- Ability to apply general math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
- Ability to use basic computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to use a computer‑based ERP system.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to do repetitive work.
- Ability to lift or move 50 lbs. objects.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment.
- Ability to work in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment.
