Operations Associate

Maker Stock is a seven-year old company that was established in Old Forge, PA. We supply pre-cut materials such as plywood and acrylic to designers, fabricators, and artisans. Our customers also include shops and labs at schools and universities.

We opened a warehouse in Salt Lake City, UT in January 2025. We are looking for an Operations Associate to join our team.

The current primary responsibilities for this position would be to cut, pack, and ship plastic and wood sheet goods. For example, a common cutting task would be to cut several 12”x20” pieces from a larger sheet of raw material using specialized cutting equipment. Other responsibilities include inventory management of raw materials and finished goods, unloading vendor shipments, warehouse management for efficient productivity and materials flow, and general warehouse maintenance and housekeeping.

Successful candidates will have these characteristics:

• Passion for improving operations. We must get better at what we do every day.
• Comfortable in a warehouse environment with limited structure.
• Handy with tape measure, arithmetic, and tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot, problem solve and adapt in a dynamic e-commerce environment.

This is an active, physical job. You’ll need to be able to lift at least 50 lbs, as when moving a sheet of plywood. Operating saws on a large sheet of material sometimes requires crouching or kneeling.

You need to be comfortable using different types of saws and willing to wear ear protection and a dust mask when needed. Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to learn is necessary. Vigilance on safety is required.

Our operating hours are 8am to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. This is a 40-hour per week full-time hourly position, and you will be a W-2 employee of Maker Stock. Eligibility for 401k, QSEHRA and wage increase (if applicable) will take effect after 3 months of employment. As a full-time employee of Maker Stock, you will receive 8 paid holidays and 10 paid time off (PTO) days.

You will also receive an employee discount on all materials. You will formally report to our SLC Warehouse Lead.
