CNC Press Brake Setup Operator

Complex Fabricators is an AS9100-certified precision metal fabrication company serving aerospace, defense, medical, scientific, and industrial customers. We manufacture complex sheet metal parts, weldments, machined components, and assemblies where quality and craftsmanship matter.

Compensation: Competitive pay $25-$30 per hour based on experience.

Experience

Required:

Minimum 5 years operating and setting up CNC press brakes.

Position Summary

The Brake Press Setup Operator is responsible for setting up and operating CNC press brakes to produce precision sheet metal components that meet demanding customer specifications. This position requires the ability to interpret engineering drawings, select tooling, perform machine setups, inspect finished parts, and maintain high standards of quality and productivity.

Experience with aerospace manufacturing is highly desirable.

Responsibilities
  • Set up and operate CNC press brakes to produce precision formed components.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, work instructions, and GD&T.
  • Select and install appropriate tooling for each job.
  • Determine bend sequences and verify setup accuracy.
  • Perform first-piece inspections and make adjustments as necessary.
  • Inspect completed parts using precision measuring equipment.
  • Complete required production and quality documentation.
  • Maintain close tolerances and consistent quality standards.
  • Troubleshoot forming issues and make process adjustments.
  • Work with engineering, quality, and production personnel to resolve manufacturing challenges.
  • Perform routine machine maintenance and report equipment issues.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and AS9100 quality requirements.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 5 years of CNC press brake setup and operating experience.
  • Strong knowledge of sheet metal forming processes.
  • Ability to read complex blueprints and mechanical drawings.
  • Experience selecting and setting up press brake tooling.
  • Ability to inspect parts using:
    • Calipers
    • Micrometers
    • Height gauges
    • Protractors
    • Other precision measuring equipment
  • Understanding of dimensional tolerances and quality requirements.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience.
  • Experience working in an AS9100 or ISO-certified environment.
  • Experience with laser cutting, machining, or fabrication operations.
  • Crane and forklift experience.
  • Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Perform repetitive bending, reaching, and lifting.
  • Manual dexterity to safely handle tooling and finished parts.
  • Sufficient vision (with correction if needed) to inspect precision components.
