The Lab Technologist is responsible for performing a wide variety of laboratory tasks and production processes. This includes operating and troubleshooting HPLCs, DNA Synthesizers, LC/MS, liquid handling robots, and UV/Vis Spectrometry. Works on assignments that are routine in nature where ability to recognize deviation from accepted practice is required. Normally receives general instructions on routine work, detailed instructions on new assignments.
Primary DutiesRequired Education, Training, and Experience
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent
- 1+ year of laboratory experience
- Preferred Bachelor’s Degree (BS) in Chemistry, Bio Chemistry, and Biology

- Skilled in MS Office tools to include but not limited to Outlook, Teams, Word, and Excel. Basic: demonstrates fundamental awareness and can perform routine tasks with guidance.
- Proficient in math, specifically unit conversions. Good oral/written communication, pipetting/liquid handling of multiple volumes. Maintain attention to detail for extended periods of time. Execute repetitive tasks and maintain high level of consistency over time.
- Emotional intelligence by having the ability to recognize, understand, and manage one's own emotions, as well as the emotions of others.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
- Ability to wear PPE correctly most of the day.
- Ability to adjust or move objects up to 50 pounds.
- Able to safely lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs.
- Standing and/or sitting 2+ hours at a time.
- Able to perform duties while wearing a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR).
The estimated wage range for this role based in Utah is between $20.00 - 28.00 This role is eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and individual performance per bio Merieux’s bonus program. This range may differ from ranges offered for similar positions elsewhere in the country given differences in cost of living. Actual compensation within this range is determined based on the successful candidate’s experience and will be presented in writing at the time of the offer.
